It's odd what can give you inspiration...
Today, I casually browsed the emoticon gallery to find that someone had submitted one of my emoticons as their own (I reported it straight away). The emoticon 'borrowed' was Parade: [link] which is one of my most popular emotes.
This got me thinking, and here's where the project idea comes in; Why don't we make a huge animated parade of emotes featuring all the big emote artists and such?

I'm thinking that it could be animated (as above), provided that people don't submit too complex animations (or simply send static emotes for me to animate). Alternatively, it could be made to be more scrolling, as in the original emoticon. Alternatively alternatively, it could be kept static to keep it easy for me to all put together
Basically, the parade would need basic marchers (the signature emotes of each artist, say), and some band members to accompany the lil drummer.
The scope of the project could be hugely extended when there's enough marchers and band members by allowing floats, balloons, and anything else parade appropriate to the ensemble.
If anyone has any thoughts on this, or if they like the idea of the project, then let me know (and by all means spread this journal entry to others who might be interested), and if there seems to be enough interest in this, I'll make a news post with the detailed guidelines.
