I know there's been quite a few emote projects recently, but bear with me.
The Plan:
To create a large parade made up of emotes including a marching band and floats.
Project Link:
www.deviantart.com/deviation/5…What I ask of you:
To create an emote to join in the parade as a general marcher.
To create an emote to join the parade as members of the marching band.
To decorate a float, and create emotes to ride it. The floats must each have one word displayed on them so that when placed in order it reads "The Great deviantART Emote Parade".
The base 'deviantART' float has already been designed with the standard dA colour scheme, and whoever takes that float should stick to dA themed things to have on top of the float (Fella's, the dA logo etc), but each of the other floats can have any theme or colour scheme as desired.
A template for the floats is here:
www.deviantart.com/deviation/5…Anyone can take part in this, but since there are only five floats to go around currently, you need to request to do a float.
Submissions can be animated or unanimated, see the rules below.
General Rules:
Emotes must comply to all the standard dA regulations.
Unanimated emotes will be animated (by myself) to march along with the rest, so don't submit anything that couldn't march along (stationary objects, people who have fallen over etc).
No backgrounds please.
Any submitted emote band members must be able to march along while playing, so no pianists please. However, strange and silly musical instruments which you wouldn't normally find in a marching band are fine.
Try to stick to reasonable sized emotes.
Guidlines for animated submissions:
If you intend to submit an animated emote, bear in mind that I will need access to .gif files for each frame of animation.
Also, don't create anything that relies on a very high framerate. Currently, the emote uses a 15 cs delay between each frame.
The parade is moving from right to left, so please animate yours to move this way too.
Your animation must repeat after either 4, 8, 20 or 40 frames.
Note for marchers: The current marching pattern is 2 frames down, then 2 frames hopped up, then two frames down and so on.
Note for musicians: The drummer cycles his beat every four frames, the tempo is: beat, beat, long beat, beat, beat, long beat. Try to have yours fit the theme (though it needn't be as fast).
Note for float emotes: any emotes riding the floats needn't march, so can be stationary or moving against the parade flow (for short periods).
If you want to submit an entry, send me a link to final emote. If you're entering an animated emote I'll need to be sent each frame as a .gif (via email or otherwise).
Think this is a good idea? Let me know! Show some support for the parade, and help spread the word.
